If you created a sound file on your computer and uploaded it, but it does not play when you select it, you may have saved your sound file in the wrong format.
The sound file must be saved in WAV format.
To ensure that you upload the correct file format, we recommend using recording software like Audacity, you can download a free copy here.
Once you record your sound using Audacity, be sure that you Export As WAV by clicking File then Export Audio...
Once the file has been exported, the file's icon should say WAV on it.
To determine if you saved your sound file in the wrong format, here are a few signs that you can look for to determine if this is the cause of the issue.
* Your sound file uploaded but the message length is wrong
* When playing the message back over the dialer, the wrong message plays
Please Note: If you save a file in another format such as WMV and then change the extension to WAV, you will be able to upload the sound file, but the dialer will not play your message, it may play another message that does not belong to you.
